Hazlewood out of Bangladesh series, India ODIs

Dunya News

Josh Hazlewood was ruled out of the remainder of the Bangladesh tour after suffering a side injury.

DHAKA (AFP) - Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood was ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing Bangladesh tour after suffering a side injury during the third day of the first Test in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Hazlewood suffered the strain on his left side after bowling just seven deliveries on the third day and left the ground without taking further part in the match.

The team s spokeswoman Kate Hutchison confirmed he will return home after the end of the Test match and will also miss the five-match one-day international series against India.

"He ll return home after the completion of this Test. He has a leg-side injury and he is also not available for the India one day series later," said Hutchison.

Hutchison added a replacement will be announced on Wednesday for the second Test, which will be held in Chittagong from September 4-8.

Australia are placed delicately in the first Test, still needing 156 runs in the fourth innings to win in the game with eight wickets in hand.

They will play five ODIs in India from September 17 to October 13, though the schedule and venues of the series are yet to be announced.
