Abdur Razzaq asks PCB for farewell match

Dunya News

Razzaq advised the board to treat future and current talent with best of the policies.

LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has demanded Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to arrange farewell match for him as well.

In a statement, Abdur RAzzaq said that he has also served the country with his stunning performance, therefore, he should also be honored with the last match.

He advised the board to treat future and current talent with best of the policies.

Talking on the Pakistan tour of World XI in September, Razzaq said this step will not only attract cricket lovers but also help in raising the standard of cricket.

When asked about the role of Head Coach Mickey Arthur, he responded that the coach should be from Pakistan, as history warrants their importance in keeping team and performance intact. He further added that the coach should keep focus on team building and performance, and ignore off the field influences.

He stated that good cricket gives confidence and breakthrough to the team and elaborate that ‘less changes and more chances’ would ensure continuity which is essential for performance of the players and the team.

On June 2, 2017, Abdul Razzaq had announced to retire from the international cricket. He last represented Pakistan internationally in 2013 in a Twenty20 International match whereas his last One-Day International (ODI) was in 2011.
