ICC has decided to end Big-3 system, all member countries except BCCI voted against the system

DUBAI: (Web Desk) – India on Saturday faced a major setback at the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting as all the members except Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) voted against the Big-3 system, reported Dunya News.

The boards’ meeting at ICC Headquarters in Dubai ended today. All the members including Pakistan voted against the Big-3 system in the session, save India.

The session also approved the document for new system ensuring equivalent distribution of funds among the member countries. Decision about the implementation of the new system will be finalised in the April meeting.

Earlier in the executive meeting also, India failed to secure membership of the working group. The Indian cricket board did everything in its power to save the Big-3 formula. Initially it threatened boycotting Champions Trophy as well but later took a U-turn upon seeing a clear defeat.
