ICC releases new Test rankings, no Pakistani bowler in top 10

Sangakara maintains first position in ICC Test rankings while AB de Villiers sustains 2nd position

DUBAI: (Dunya News) – International Cricket Council (ICC) has on Sunday released new Test rankings and none of the Pakistani bowlers was able to make it to the top 10 bowlers of the world. Sri Lanka’s star batsman Kumar Sangakara has maintained his first position while South Africe captain AB de Villiers has sustained his second rank in the Top 10 Test batsmen list, reported Dunya News.

According to the ranking, England’s Joe Root has grabbed the fifth position while Younis Khan lost three places to hold 8th position. After one place improvement in ICC Test ranking, Pakistan captain Misbah-ul Haq holds the tenth position now. Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali both lost one rank and now hold 20th and 22nd position respectively while national all-rounder lost one place to hold on to 42nd position.

In bowling rankings, South Africa’s Dale Steyn holds the first position while England’s James Anderson improved 3 places to get 2nd position. No Pakistani bowler could make it to the top 10 bowlers but Saeed Ajmal gained one place to hold 11th position. Junaid Khan sustained his 16th position while Zulfiqar Babar went one place down and now holds the 33rd position in ICC Test bowlers’ ranking.

In all-rounder’s category, Bangladesh’s Shakib-ul-Hassaan still keeps the 1st rank. No Pakistani was able to make it to the top 10 all-rounders as well.

In team rankings, South Africa is the No. 1 team with 124 points. Pakistan holds the 4th position with 103 points while Bangladesh holds the 9th rank with 32 points.
