BCCI calls meeting over IPL spot-fixing scandal
There were "enough issues to be discussed" at the meeting, an official said.
NEW DELHI (AP) - The Board of Control for Cricket in India will hold an emergency meeting in Chennai on Sunday to discuss the ongoing spot-fixing scandal in the India Premier League that led to the resignation of two top officials.
BCCI joint secretary Anurag Thakur said from New Delhi on Saturday that there were "enough issues to be discussed" at the meeting.
BCCI secretary general Sanjay Jagdale and treasurer Ajay Shirke resigned on Friday, indicating they were hurt at recent developments but refused to give specific reasons.
There have been calls for BCCI president Narainswamy Srinivasan to step down because his son-in-law and Chennai Super Kings official Gurunath Meiyappan has been arrested by police in the spot-fixing probe. The BCCI is also conducting its own inquiry.
