Clarke regains No 1 ranking as Test batsman

Australian batsman Michael Clarke has regained the number-one spot in ICC ranking.
Michael Clarke has regained the number-one ranking in the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for Test batsmen after producing a spectacular performance in the second cricket Test between Australia and South Africa which ended in a thrilling draw in Adelaide on Monday.
The 31-year-old captain scored a masterly 230 in the first innings, his fourth double-century of the year, which has earned him 33 ratings points and has helped him leapfrog Kumar Sangkkara of Sri Lanka and South Africa duo of Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis into the number-one position.
According new ICC ranking, Michael Clarke regained top ranking with 890 points. Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangkkara in second with 880 points and West Indies batsman Shive Chanderpaul is third with 879 points.
Pakistani batsmen, Younus Khan and Azhar Ali are placed 9th and 10th in the new ranking.
In the Test teams ranking, South Africa maintained top ranking while England are second, Australia are third and Pakistan are placed fourth.
There is no change in top two spots of Test bowlers. South African fast bowler Dale Steyn holds his position as No 1 Test bowler while Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal occupies number two spot.
Hashim Amla, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are top three ODI batsmen. No Pakistani batsman is listed in top 10 ODI batsmen.
In ODI bowlers ranking, Saeed Ajmal of Pakistan maintained his top position followed by Muhammad Hafeez.
