ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan has achieved significant progress in boosting energy production with the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), marking a historic development in the country’s energy sector.

The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) is actively pursuing agreements with foreign firms alongside adopting advanced technological measures to enhance daily production.

OGDCL has signed a key agreement with French company SNF S.A. to install modern water injection systems at the Kunnar and Pasakhi oil fields. Under the agreement, the combined output of the fields is expected to increase by 9 million barrels of oil and 3 billion cubic feet of gas, generating an estimated revenue of $460 million.

Through the implementation of advanced technical measures, the company has raised crude oil production by up to 750 barrels. These initiatives aim to efficiently utilize the additional capacity of mature oil fields.

Officials stated that the substantial rise in energy production will strengthen national self-reliance, enhance economic stability, and contribute to sustainable growth.
