ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Telecom Operators Association has written a letter to the Senate Standing Committee on Finance chairman Salieem Mandviwalla, rejecting tax on IT sector.

The letter read that the IT sector had played important part in earning Rs340 billion foreign exchange last year and if the new proposals would be implemented the dream of Digital Pakistan would not be fulfilled.

It was said 75 per cent advance sales tax collection was impractical while increasing sales tax on mobile phones upto $500 would reduce revenue collection.
