LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has announced a relief package for low-energy consumers in the budget for fiscal year 2024-25. 

According to the budget document, the chief Minister’s Roshan Gharana Program will provide free solar system to households consuming up to 100 units of electricity, with the government bearing all installation costs. 

Additionally, the government has allocated Rs9 million for solarisation of 7,000 tube wells under the chief minister’s initiative. 

Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman on Thursday presented Rs5,446 billion budget 2024-25 in the Punjab Assembly amid ruckus by the opposition.

The budget session started two hours late with Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan in the chair. The session was due at 2pm.
