Nepra approves 34 paise per unit hike in power tariff

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Dropping another bomb on poverty-striken masses, the National Electric Power and Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Wednesday approved 34 paise per unit hike in power tariff.
The new rates will be applicable from the month of May.
Earlier, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has recommended Rs1.21 per unit.
The recent hike will create extra burden of around Rs2.9 billion on the masses’ pockets.
