US dollar strikes back as Pakistani rupee tumbles

The greenback is selling at Rs 208.50 at the start of the fifth business day in interbank.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The US dollar did not have to wait long to display its superiority as the greenback struck back at the Pakistani rupee on Friday, reversing the rupee’s winning streak for a day.

After an increase of 45 paisa the US dollar was selling at Rs 207.48. 

It should be noted that the US dollar had depreciated by Rs 4.70 in the interbank on Thursday after a period of two months.

On the other hand, after depriciation of 50 paisa, the greenback was selling at Rs. 208.50 in the open market.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) crashed on Friday. The market witnessed a steep dip with the KSE-100 losing more than 1600 points and sinking to more than 41,045 points.
