Trade deficit reaches 28.8 billion dollar
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The trade deficit increased by 91.97% in the first seven months of the current financial year and reached 28.8 billion dollar, reported Dunya News on Wednesday.
According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, the national imports in 7 months reached at 46.47 billion dollar while the exports from July to January touched the statistic of 17.67 billion dollar. In 7 months, imports increased by 58.84%, while exports increased by 23.96% during this period.
As per the Statistics Bureau, the trade deficit narrowed to 30.19% in January compared to December. The trade deficit in January 2022 was 3.36 billion dollar. Imports stood at $5.98 billion in January, while exports remained at $2.54 billion.
