NEPRA increases tariff on power by Rs 1.38 per unit

The increase in electricity prices will not apply to K-Electric customers.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Already overburdened by inflation, increased oil prices, food items, Pakistanis were in for a shock when the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday decided to increase the power tariff by Rs 1.38 for the month of September under monthly fuel adjustment.

According to an order along with schedule of tariff (SOT) released by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the increase will be collected in September bills, however, the increase in electricity prices will not apply to K-Electric customers.

According to the notification, the CPPA-G had requested for an increase of Rs 1, 47 paisa per unit in the price of electricity.

The authority held a public hearing on the FCA on September 1, in the light of which it was decided to increase the price.

The increase will apply to all Discos customers except lifeline customers.
