ECC expresses satisfaction over availability of sufficient sugar stock
ECC was informed that 4.35 million metric tons sugar stock is available
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet at Prime Minister’s Office.
During the meeting, the ECC reviewed a report of Ministry of Commerce on availability of Sugar during the holy month of Ramzan.
The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet (ECC) was informed that there were sufficient stocks of sugar in the country to meet demand during Ramzan.
The ECC was informed that 4.35 million metric tons sugar stock is available with monthly consumption standing at 0.433 MMT per month.
The ECC expressed satisfaction over the availability of sufficient sugar stock during the holy month of Ramzan.
The ECC accorded ex-post facto approval for an amount of Rs7.34 billion paid during previous years to Oil Marketing Companies against their Price Differential Claims (PDCs) in order to provide relief to consumers through subsidizing imported petroleum products. These claims have been duly verified and audited.
