PSX records fresh gains, 100-index increases by 399 points
The investors ignored the last week's bearish mood.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) recorded fresh gains and market capitalisation crossed Rs 9 trillion level after a long pause.
The index surged by 399 points to 43410 points. The main factor was the consensus reached upon appointment of Senate chairman and Deputy Chairman.
The investors ignored the last week’s bearish mood and placed fresh bets in trading and investment stocks.
Another factor which impaired the investors’ mood was the growth witnessed in exports for the month of February showing a rise of 16.5 percent.
The market is likely to strengthen further as most of the negative news are out of the box. Smooth Senate elections and hope of that timely general election could pave way for new upward rallies.
