International Gem and Jewelry show underway in Hong Kong

The 11th International Gem and Jewelry show stated in Hong Kong. The event administrators believe that with the Chinese love of jewelry and the recovering economy business prospects are looking promising.

The world third largest and Asia’s largest jewelry event, the 2011 Hong Kong International Jewelry Show will be held from March 4th through March 8th, 2011 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.T he Hong Kong International Jewelry Show offers a wide range of high quality jewelry and timepieces exhibits, such as diamonds, colored gems, pearls and rubies, to buyers from all over the world. A total of 2850 companies from 46 countries will be participating in the event which itself is a record number. According to one diamond trader, despite the increase in prices by 20 to 30 percent from last year, the prospects of business are looking promising. Over 44,000 buyers from 135 countries are expected to attend the exhibition. In 2010, more than 2,600 exhibitors and 32,000 buyers from around the world attended the show.
