Cotton prices touch unforeseen height

Cotton prices in Pakistan have touched an unforeseen height, Rs 12,500 per maund, due to an upward trend in the international market.

The market is observing an upward trend after China increased cotton buying. Reports of low cotton production for the coming season made the rumors. In 2011 cotton prices has soared up to Rs 3,000 in Pakistan. Cotton is being sold at more than $2 per pound in the New York Cotton Exchange.
