Summary to increase petroleum products' prices sent to Ministry of Petroleum

Finance Ministry will make final decision on the increase in prices after consulting with PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Summary to increase prices of petroleum products for the month of June has been forwarded to the Ministry of Petroleum, reported Dunya News on Monday.

Sources indicate that price of petroleum is expected to increase by Rs 0.85 per litre from June 1 onwards whereas the price of high-speed diesel will also increase by Rs 6.80 per litre.

Likewise, prices of high-octane fuel and kerosene oil are also expected to rise by Rs 2.18 per litre and Rs 4.57 per litre respectively. The price of light-diesel will also increase by Rs 4.47 per litre next month if the summary gets approved.

Sources have stated that the request to increase the prices of petroleum products has been made as a result of the additional General Sales Tax (GST) implemented.

Finance Ministry shall be making the final decision related to the increase in the prices after consulting the matter with Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.
