SBP plans to expand microfinance

Deputy Governor of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Kamran Shahzad said that microfinance facility would be provided to 30 million people to eradicate poverty and unemployment. He said this at the opening ceremony of first micro credit information bureau in Lahore. He said that with the opening of bureau, risk management for microfinance would be improved. He said that SBP gives guarantee for SME sector up to 25 percent and microfinance up to 60 percent. He said that SBP is not short of funds for microfinance. And financial policy would be announced on May 24.
