Pharmaceutical companies involved in manufacturing life saving drugs in the country have increased the prices of their products from 50 per cent to 100 per cent. The recent hike in prices has been approved by Federal Government. According to new list published by medicine vendors the prices of some medicines used for critical diseases like cancer and hepatitis have been increased in the range of Rs 100 to Rs 2000.The injections used in treatment of dog bite are now being sold at Rs 5000 while the prices of injections used for treating mentally ill patients have increased by Rs 345 and are being sold at Rs 560.According to sources, some pharmacy retailers have created artificial shortage in the market and are selling the drugs in black.
