OPIC considering projects for Pakistan

US-based OPIC is considering projects in wind energy and food processing sectors.
WASHIGNTON (Online) - The US-based Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) is considering a range of projects for Pakistan in different fields including wind energy and food processing.
This was stated by the President OPIC Elizabeth Littlefield during a meeting with Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif here on Thursday.
The two sides reviewed the program portfolio of OPIC in Pakistan.
The OPIC president said that the recent reforms introduced by the present government in the energy sector had sent positive signal to the US business community.
She maintained that these reforms would lead to enhanced flow of foreign direct investment in the coming months for Pakistan.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif emphasized that due to the personal commitment of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Pakistan has become an attractive choice for international investors.
