TEHRAN (Dunya News) - Iran has issued a strong warning to the United States following a recent threat by US President Donald Trump, saying any attack on Iranian infrastructure would trigger retaliatory strikes against US-linked civilian infrastructure across the Middle East.
According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, an unnamed military source said Tehran's determination to exercise its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz remained unwavering and that it would not allow the strategically important waterway to become a source of threat against Iran.
The military source warned that if the United States targeted Iranian infrastructure, including bridges or power plants, Iran would respond by striking US-linked civilian infrastructure in Arab countries, including bridges, power stations, and other key facilities.
The source added that recent developments over the past 10 days should leave no doubt that Iran possesses the capability to carry out operations wherever it deems necessary.
The official also cautioned President Trump against what was described as a "dangerous gamble," warning that any such action would once again end in embarrassment and humiliation for the United States.

Reaffirming Iran's position on the Strait of Hormuz, the source said Tehran would continue to exercise its sovereign rights over the vital maritime passage and would not relinquish control under any circumstances.
The remarks came in response to a statement by President Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Trump said that if Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked any commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz using missiles, rockets, drones, or any other weapon, the United States would retaliate by destroying one Iranian bridge or power plant for every such attack, even if the target was located near Tehran.
