PYONGYANG (Web Desk) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un directed officials to increase missile production during a visit to a weapons manufacturing facility.

According to state media, during a tour of a missile factory, Kim Jong Un stressed the need to expand production in line with the evolving operational requirements of the North Korean military.

Kim has previously claimed that the missiles can be equipped with nuclear warheads and are capable of targeting South Korea and US military bases in the region.

According to the report, North Korea has sought in recent months to diversify the capabilities of the Hwasong-11 missile series, including testing variants equipped with cluster munitions, blackout bombs, and fragmentation warheads.

Local media reported that the missile series also plays a central role in North Korea’s efforts to earn foreign currency through arms exports.

Hwasong-11A (KN-23) and Hwasong-11B (KN-24) missiles reportedly supplied to Russia are being used to strike targets in Ukraine.
