WASHINGTON (Dunya News) - Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, has announced the birth of her daughter and expressed happiness over the new addition to her family.
She said the newborn has been named Viviana, who will lovingly be called “Vivi” at home.
In a statement shared on social media, Leavitt said her daughter was born on May 1 and brought great joy to the family.
She added that the baby is completely healthy and doing well.
Leavitt wrote that the family is fully enjoying this new chapter, while their son is happily adjusting to having a younger sister.
This is the second child for Karoline Leavitt and her husband, Nicholas Riccio. Their first son, Nicholas, also known as Nico, was born in July 2024.
According to reports, the 28-year-old Leavitt is the first White House press secretary to experience pregnancy and childbirth while serving in office.
She is currently on maternity leave and is expected to resume regular press briefings later this year.
Her last press briefing took place on April 27, after which she temporarily stepped away from official duties.
