Summary Trump says Iran ready for talks as US ramps up pressure with new sanctions, targeting oil trade networks, while negotiations and enforcement actions continue.

WASHINGTON (Web Desk) - US President Donald Trump has said that Iran is willing to engage in talks, adding that it remains to be seen whether a deal can be reached and what kind of proposal Tehran presents.

Speaking to a British news agency, Trump stated that Iran wants to negotiate to reach an agreement and is preparing an offer in line with US demands. He added that Washington is in discussions with individuals in Iran who hold authority.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States is increasing economic pressure on Iran, adding that decisive steps are being taken to curb Iran’s illegal oil trade. He noted that networks supporting Iranian trade will face intensified pressure under “Operation Economic Fury.”

The US Treasury Department announced new sanctions on Iran, targeting a China-based oil refinery, around 40 shipping companies, and oil tankers involved in transporting Iranian oil.

According to the statement, these sanctions are aimed at entities engaged in business dealings and oil transfers with Iran, as the US continues to tighten measures to limit Iran’s oil trade.

Meanwhile, US Central Command stated that American forces intercepted another Iranian-flagged vessel for allegedly violating blockade restrictions. The ship was reportedly heading toward an Iranian port.
