Israel launched airstrikes on southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire, killing one civilian and injuring others near a school, sparking panic among residents, Lebanese officials confirmed.
BEIRUT (Web Desk) - Israel has carried out airstrikes on southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire agreement, killing one civilian and injuring several others, Lebanese authorities confirmed on Thursday.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health stated that the bombing targeted the southern region, where one civilian was killed and another wounded.
The statement added that an Israeli strike destroyed a car in the town of Burj Rahal in the Tyre district. The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that the attack occurred near a school, causing panic among children and prompting parents to rush to the scene in fear and distress.
It is worth noting that the Israeli army signed a ceasefire agreement on November 27, 2024, yet bombardments on Lebanon have continued unabated. Israeli forces remain deployed at five locations in southern Lebanon, carrying out daily strikes, claiming to target Hezbollah’s sites and infrastructure.
Earlier this week, seven Lebanese civilians were killed in similar Israeli attacks in the south, while four others were killed a day earlier in Nabatieh.
