Death toll rises to 119 from Israeli attacks against Palestine
Hamas group has warned Israel that there will be no red lines in responding to attacks
GAZA (Dunya News) – The death toll in Gaza has soared in Israeli forces’ intermittent attacks and air strikes on Gaza on Friday.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 119 Palestinians, including 28 children and seven women, have been killed and more than 500 wounded in the Israeli attacks. The fatalities in Israel include a soldier killed while patrolling the Gaza border and six civilians, including two children and an Indian worker, medical authorities said.
Israeli warplanes also fired missiles at residential buildings, including a six-story building in Gaza. As Palestinians left their homes for Eid prayers on Thursday morning, Zionist warplanes roared in the sky and brutal terrorists targeted unarmed civilians with their missiles.
Palestinian doctors suspect use of poisonous gas by the Israeli occupation forces, adding that samples have been obtained from the bodies of the martyrs, which are being examined. Despite this, hundreds of Palestinians in sighs and sobs offered Eid prayers in the compound of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In Gaza residents are bracing for more devastation as Hamas fire one barrage of rockets after another and Israel carries out waves of bone-rattling airstrikes, sending plumes of smoke rising into the air. Since the rockets began Monday, Israel has toppled three high-rise buildings that it said housed Hamas facilities after warning civilians to evacuate.
Meanwhile, Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas group, has warned Israel that there will be no red lines in responding to attacks on the Gaza Strip.
"There are no red lines when it comes to responding to the aggression,” Abu Ubaida, the group’s spokesman said in a televised speech broadcast by Al-Aqsa TV on Thursday.
The spokesman reiterated the group’s support for Jerusalem describing the Muslim holy city as "the focus of the conflict, the icon of battles and the trigger for uprisings,” adding that they are ready to sacrifice everything to protect the city and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“Our weapons and our accumulation of power are for the sake of our land, the defense of our people, and the victory of our sanctuaries," Abu Ubayda said.
He also commemorated the group’s leaders including the Gaza city commander Bassem Issa, who were killed by Israeli airstrikes on Wednesday hailing them as “heroes.”
Abu Ubayda said the ongoing battle with Israel is unique because of the united stance by all Palestinians on resisting Israeli aggression.
The spokesman also reassured Palestinians that more surprises are in store to breach the Israeli fortresses, adding that Al-Qassam’s attacks have “exposed the enemy’s vulnerability.”
