Suspected 'LeT militant' arrested from Mumbai, claims India media

(Web Desk) – An alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant’ has on Monday been arrested from Mumbai according to the Indian media. Saleem Mukim Khan had been absconding for the last nine years, reported ANI, an Indian media outlet.

Firstpost reported that Khan is originally from Uttar Pradesh (UP) and was arrested ‘in a joint operation’ by the anti-terror squads of UP and Maharashtra.

The arrest has come only days after two people, allegedly from LeT, were arrested by Jammu & Kashmir police. Khan was reportedly arrested by Maharashtra police as he reached Mumbai from United Arab Emirates. The Indian media claimed that Saleem Khan had received training at ‘a terrorist camp in Muzaffarabad’.

UP Anti-Terror Police had been looking for Khan ever since the Rampur attacks carried out in 2008. Eight people had died in the attack, seven among whom were Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.
