(Web Desk) – Explosion heard in Brighton of Australian Melbourne on Monday with reportedly two men been killed and two police shot and wounded after a two-hour long siege.

express.co.uk reported that a guman was killed in the apartment while another unidentified man was dead on the foyer who is yet to be confirmed if was an accomplice or not.

An unidentified man had taken a woman hostage in a Melbourne apartment (Buckingham Serviced Apartments, Bay St.) and a loud explosion was heard. Another media outlet reported that the woman was taken hostage at around 04:30pm and gunfires were heard 06:00pm.

Though police are investigating terror link to the attack, a man reportedly telephoned Channel 7 and stated: "This is for IS” and “this is for Al-Qaeda.” The channel administration reported that a woman could be heard screaming during the telephone call.

hearldsun.co.au quoted a bystander Jack Reid who stood near to the attacked apartment with his younger brother.

"A police officer shouted at bystanders to flee to a nearby supermarket." “The policewoman was just shouting at us to get into Coles and stay there,’’ Reid said.

“It was pretty scary. She was just going: ‘Everyone get into Coles now! Stay inside! Don’t come out!"

“We all figured it was a hostage thing. I am a bit shaken. The gunshots took us all by surprise."

“It went for at least three seconds. It sounded like a pistol or something.”
