Summary BJP government has amended its laws to make cow slaughter punishable by life imprisonment.
CHHATTISGARH (Daily Dunya) - Chief Minister of India’s Chhattishgarh has openly given death threats to Muslims over slaughtering cows.
“Anyone found killing cows in Chhattishgarh will be hanged,” said chief minister Raman Singh as reported by Hindustan Times.
His comments came after BJP government amended its laws to make cow slaughter punishable by life imprisonment.
“Not a single incident of cow slaughter has taken place in the last 15 years...anyone who does so will be hanged,” the chief minister told reporters when asked if Chhattisgarh was also considering any changes in its law against cow slaughter.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath also launched a crackdown on slaughterhouses and cattle smuggling in the state.
