NEW YORK (Dunya News) - A graceful ceremony in accordance with Pakistan Day was held in Pakistan Mission Office in United Nations.
The ceremony was attended by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and more than 100 ambassadors and representatives of various countries.
The guests were welcomed by Pakistan s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi.

A photo exhibition was also held on this occasion.
While talking to Dunya News, UN Secretary-General said: “I would like to pay tribute to the very important contribution that Pakistan is giving to the United Nations. I have just seen a photo exhibition of Pakistani peacekeepers. They are in many places and around the world rescuing people, saving lives and I am very grateful for that cooperation.”
He said that he had visited Pakistan many times in the past. He admired Pakistan’s efforts for Afghan immigrants.
A Pakistani student sang a national song which was greatly liked by the audience.

Dr Maleeha Lodhi welcomed the participation of the ambassadors in the ceremony.
“More than 100 ambassadors and UN Secretary General attended the ceremony which shows that Pakistan is held in very high regard at the United Nations,” she said.
She asserted that Pakistan faces numerous challenges but it is strongly confronting them.
The guests also greeted Pakistanis on the national day and expressed wish to visit the country.
