Summary Sakshi Maharaj justified it by telling about increased population, need for agricultural land
(Web Desk) – Discrimination on the basis of religion is climbing a new high in India with the elected government of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by PM Narendra Modi.
A leader from the ruling party Sakshi Maharaj stated that India should have no graveyards and that every citizen should be obligated to carry out cremation. The leader is none other than an MP from Unnao.
He went on to say that PM Modi has restricted the people to build crematoriums beside every graveyard, adding his personal opinion that graveyard should not be constructed at all. “There’ll be no place left for agriculture if graveyards are built”, he added.
Moreover, MP Maharaj appealed the Prime Minister to make only one cremation ground that will place the dead in heaven. He believes that the outcome will be ‘positive’ if only one giant cremation ground is established so that no room is left for graveyards.
He latter justified his remarks by telling about the increasing population. “Where will we live if space is used for graveyards, there is no need to bury anyone at all,” he stated.
Earlier, Indian PM Modi had stated that if a graveyard was constructed in a village then a cremation ground should also be built there. His statement had sparked speculations which made Maharaj comment on it.
