SRINAGAR (Dunya News) – Indian forces have put the Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on house arrest. Reports suggest that he wasn’t even allowed to offer Friday prayer.
Contingent troops of Indian forces have been deployed outside Mirwaiz’s home. He was expected to lead a protest against the death sentence ordered by West Bengal court to Hurriyat supporter Mushtaq Ahmed.
On the other hand, the capital of Indian held Kashmir witnessed a shutter down strike on the call of Hurriyat conference.
Meanwhile, protests continue to hit Srinagar following the murder of young leader Burhan Wani on July 8.
