WASHINGTON (Web Desk) – US media reports suggest that their government is now forced to conduct drone attacks in their own country.
After getting approval from US lawmakers, police of all the states of North Dakota will now target the wanted criminals and fugitive through drones.
On the other hand, human rights organizations have condemned the decision and termed it as similar to martial law.
According to them, the country has been transformed into a police state.
Britain newspaper ‘Independent’ have also confirmed the news alongwith saying that police will have to attain a special permission letter in this regard.
US media reports that police and the notorious criminals are often in a clash with each other.
In 2015, police killed atleast 30 dangerous criminals in a crackdown.
Some analysts say that if the drones are used then North Dacota will soon be free of lawbreakers.
On the other hand, lawmakers have highly criticized police authority.
According to US newspaper San Francisco Chronicle, some of drones contain laser weapons whereas others have machine guns that can fire rubber pellets.
Besides this there are such drones in which tear gas shells, pepper spray and laser is installed while some of the drones have beam gun attached to them which can paralyze any person or can cause death.
While talking to ‘Rozanma Dunya’ North America correspondent Nadeem Salahri on telephone, California’s legal expert Agha Tabassum Afridi said that democratic members have played an important role in approving the drones usage whereas Republicans have opposed it.
He said that the Black community fears that police will use it against them in a wrong manner.
