Summary Ahmed was arrested for taking a clock he built to school
(Web Desk) – Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg has invited 14-year-old Ahmed – the boy who was arrested in American state of Texas for taking a clock he built to school – to Facebook headquarters.
“Having the skill and ambition to build something cool should lead to applause, not arrest. The future belongs to people like Ahmed,” he said.
Earlier, Ahmed Mohamed was arrested when he took his project clock to school to show it to teachers. The teachers mistook it for a hoax bomb and called the police. Ahmed’s day did not end as he had hoped as he was escorted in handcuffs by the police.
The police said they arrested Ahmed thinking he had brought a hoax bomb to create panic even when the juvenile kept repeating it was just a clock.
Ahmed was later released without any charges.
