Summary India started the trend #LiberateBalochistan with notorious intentions to let down Pakistan.

LAHORE (Web Desk) - #LiberateKhalistan is trending worldwide in solidarity with Sikhs who sacrificed their lives to acquire separate land.

First, Indian tweeps started a trend #LiberateBalochistan with notorious intentions to let down Pakistan. Pakistani twitterati gave the Indians a befitting response by using #LiberateKhalistan hashtag. Gradually the hashtag started trending worldwide and for several hours trended at No. 3 across the globe.

Khalistan is an independence movement that emerged during the time of Pakistan-India separation. The movement picked up heat in 1980s when Indian Army killed hundreds of thousands of Sikh leaders and activists, raped women in large numbers by claiming Punjabis as terrorists. According to the estimates, Indian troops murdered at least 500 thousand Sikhs.

Khalistan movement lost the momentum in 90s but it is emerging again as it is being discussed worldwide.

Ayesha Baloch believes that Sikhs deserve referendum just like Scotland.

Some said they would love to see a free Khalistan where they would relive the old Punjabi traditions.

This tweep shows how much the Sikhs want their own land.

Some people believe that these things were not worth discussing in both countries India and Pakistan and both should focus on governing their own territories correctly.

But most importantly....
