Troops from NATO states marched alongside the Russian troops through Red Square for the first time as Russia marked victory in World War II with its biggest military parade since the collapse of the Soviet Union.Twelve world leaders including Chinese President Hu Jintao, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the heads of state of ex-Soviet nations were attending the 65th anniversary of the Allied victory. A guard of honour from ex-communist Poland, which joined Nato in 1999 and in recent months has seen a dramatic improvement in relations with Moscow, also marched in the parade.President Dmitry Medvedev in his address to the parade said 65-years ago, Nazism was defeated when people had no other choice.
