The foreign ministers from the G-8 countries are to meet on Monday in Canada to discuss such issues as non-proliferation, Afghanistan and Pakistan, security vulnerabilities and more sanctions on Iran. Canadian Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon said that the European Union foreign affairs representative would also be present at the two-day meeting in Ottawa.The G-8 foreign ministers meeting will also serve as preparation for the G-8 summit slated for June in Ontario, Canada.The Canadian foreign minister has also invited his counterparts from the United States, Russia, Denmark and Norway to a one-day meeting on the Arctic Ocean. The special meeting is scheduled for March 29.The foreign ministers from the Arctic rim countries are to discuss the impact of climate change in the Arctic region and are to seek the opportunity for a constructive and responsible management of the Arctic, according to Cannon.
