At least 40 people were killed while several others injured in an explosion on Moscow's metro system on Monday.The explosion took place on a train while it was in the Lubyanka station in central Moscow.Fourteen people died in the wagon of the train and 11 on the platform, an official spokesperson said. At least 10 people were wounded. The blast was ensued by another blast at another railway station which claimed 15 people. The official sources said that the blast could be an example of suicide bombing.The Russian capital over the last decade was hit by a string of deadly explosions claimed by militants from its turbulent southern region of Chechnya but this has become less frequent in the last years.
