As many as six terrorists among seven killed while 28 injured in suicide blasts, rocket attacks and the ensuing clash between Taliban and security forces in Kabul on Monday, Dunya News reported. According to foreign news agencies, a suicide bomber blew himself up near the presidential palace, and the act was ensued by two rocket attack at government buildings. Meanwhile, two terrorists wearing suicide vests, holed up in a departmental store and as many in the central bank building. Two suicide bombers were killed in the ensuing gunbattle with the Afghan security forces whereas two blew their payload on being besieged by teh forces. A child, an army personnel and a cop were also among the killed. Fire engulfed two shopping centres and a five star hotel. All the government buildings and main roads are closed in wake of the attack. Taliban claimed the responsibility, saying that presidential palace, offices of different ministries and central bank was being targeted, adding that as many as 20 suicide bombers took part in the standoff. NATO forces reached the site and threw cordon around the area. Meanwhile, US strongly condemned the attack, saying that the terrorist activity showed disappointment on part of the Taliban.Richard Holbrooke said that the attack was not a surprise and warned against more such attacks in future.
