Summary Gujrat High Court Saturday ordered seizer of 'MV Meem' with 5 Pakistanis on board.

KARACHI(Online) - Chairman Ansar Burney Trust International Ansar Burney has said that the unfortunate ship MV Meem have total 17 crew members, including 5 Pakistanis, 6 Indians, 3 Egyptians, 1 Palestinian, 1 Syrian and 1 Bangladeshi nationals on board, was arrested in Indian sea of Gujrat, on the directives of Gujrat High Court.

The Captain of the ship is Palestinian.

Ansar Burney said that directives had already been issued to the lawyers and representatives of the Ansar Burney Trust International in India to pursue the case on humanitarian grounds and to immediately arrange food and clean water for crews survival.

United Nations former Expert Adviser on human rights, Ansar Burney added that the ship was stuck in Mozambique earlier in March 2013, wherein a Pakistani Second Engineer, Ghulam Hussain was died and whose dead body was brought back to Pakistan by the Ansar Burney Trust on humanitarian grounds and other members were also helped by the Trust.

Ansar Burney further said that now the unfortunate ship MV Meem was arrested on the orders of Mr Justice KM Thaker of the Gujarat High Court and the same is anchored within the sea jurisdiction of Gujarat High Court.

Admiralty suit was initiated at the behest of Omega Bunker S.R.L against the vessel that had headed towards Alang for breaking.

Ansar Burney said that the arrest orders for MV Meem were also issued by the Mumbai High Court.

He hoped that in this week with the kind cooperation of Pakistan s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indian Government, Indian High Commission at Islamabad and Indian Gujrat High Court on humanitarian grounds Ansar Burney Trust would be able to get release all crew members including 5 Pakistanis from MV Meem.
