Hamas leader says PLO symbol of unity

GAZA CITY:-The Hamas leader in exile said on Saturday the Islamist movement looks to the PLO as a symbol of Palestinian unity and a "reference" for all Palestinian people.
"We are a single authority, a single reference, and our reference is the PLO, which we want united," the Hamas politburo chief said of the Palestine Liberation Organisation, of which Hamas is not a member.
His remarks, during a mass rally marking the 25th foundation of Hamas, can be seen as the latest bid by Hamas to integrate with the PLO and consolidate Palestinian ranks.
