US Central Command Chairman General David Petraeus has discussed Afghanistan situation with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. According to a statement issued from the 10-Downing Street, the meeting discussed Afghanistans situation and other global issues in detail. General Petraeus said that British troops had rendered golden services in very difficult circumstances to curb extremists. The meeting has taken place at a time when opposition against the Afghan War is on the rise in UK. The demand of calling British troops back is also gaining momentum in UK. General Petraeus said that U.S and UK would achieve the goal of crushing militants in Afghanistan. He said it would be ensured that Afghanistan never becomes safe heavens for Al-Qaeda.
