A car accident in Vermont was the start of a wild afternoon chase and a showdown for police and firefighters who responded to the crash.According to details, Trevor Burton, 30, climbed into the fire truck with his pit bull terrier, but firefighters persuaded him not to drive away. Burton surrendered the gun’s magazine and gave himself up without a fight, but his dog bit a fireman’s finger.While Burton created the standoff, the driver of the wrecked vehicle, Michael Farnolo, 41, allegedly fled. He was tracked down a few miles away.Police charged Burton with driving under the influence, operation without owners consent and driving with a suspended license. Farnolo was booked for leaving the scene of an accident.
