China: 53 Siberian tigers move to new home in Shenyang

Summary 53 Siberian tigers settled into their new home in northeast China's Liaoning Province on Tuesday.

The tigers were brought to Shenyang from the Heilongjiang Siberian Tigers Garden, the worlds largest breeding center for the large cat.A total of 100 Siberian tigers will be introduced to the Shenyangs Guai Po Scenic Spot. The tigers are currently be sent to the area in small batches.The 53 tigers arrived via heavy truck to their new home after an 11-hour journey from Haerbin, they capital city of northeast Chinas Heilongjiang Province.The tigers are not separated into separate cages so that they are able to live and interact with each other. To help identify the tigers, they have been earmarked to indicate their gender. In addition, the tigers have also been implanted with a microchip beneath the skin under their ear that contains identification, research, and management information.The Shenyang Guaipo Scenic Spot will open to visitors soon. With more than 100 Siberian tigers, the scenic spot will become Chinas third largest breeding center for tigers.
