Summary Two people trapped in a roller coaster were rescued in Zibo, Shandong Province of east China.
Mr. Zhang took his son to ride roller coaster in an amusement park but the machine suddenly stopped mid way. The highest reach is 15 meters from the ground.When the roller coaster stopped, two people, Zhang and his son, were caught in a position with their heads downward.Because of days of rain, the lawn under the machine was very soft, unable to support the weight of a fire engine that had been called in to rescue. Firefighters leveled the ground with a bulldozer before laying planks on it. However, the ground was too soft and the planks couldnt carry the fire engine.The two people had been trapped in the roller coaster for more than half an hour. If their heads remained upside down for too long, they would have blood congestion in their heads, endangering their lives.Finally a park staffer climbed up to the roller coaster rail structure and fastened a rope onto the front of the roller coaster. Then rescuers on the ground pulled the rope to move the roller coaster forward.After tenacious efforts, the roller coaster finally slid down to the ground and the father and son were saved and rushed to hospital.
