(Web Desk) – Candidates for local Indian elections are campaigning enthusiastically to catch the attention of voters. Some candidates have found a rather unusual way of campaigning - they used stray dogs to campaign for them.

At least two candidates, one from Rae Bareli and the other from the Ballia district, have used stray dogs for their election campaign. They stuck their posters and pamphlets on the dogs and let them roam around.

Photos of the dogs with posters of candidates stuck on them have gone viral on social media, enraging the fury of several animal lovers.

A candidate who requested anonymity said, "There is no rule in the model code of conduct which prevents us from using stray dogs in the campaign. We are not harming the animal in any way. In fact, we feed the dogs every day. It is a novel idea and the voters are attracted to such innovations."
