(Dunya News) – At least eight people in Indonesia’s Gresik regency were ordered to dig graves for those who have lost their lives due to coronavirus as a punishment for refusing to wear face masks.

Cerme district head, Suyono said, “There are only three available gravediggers at the moment, so I thought I might as well put these people to work with them.”

The non-mask wearers were not permitted to take part in any traditional ceremonies. They were also forbidden from touching the corpses, the local authorities stated.
