Moscow places statue to thank delivery people for making 'self-isolation possible'
(Dunya News) – A monument has been unveiled in Moscow to pay tribute to different frontline workers: delivery men and women who made self-isolation possible during coronavirus quarantine days.
Designed by artist Alexei Garikovich, the statue is around three metres tall and features the form of a standing man hollowed out from a thick sheet of rusting metal.
“Dedicated to those who made self-isolation possible,” wrote on it.
“The monument makes me proud of course. “I have never in my life seen or heard of the opening of a monument to couriers. It’s quite cool, said 27-year-old courier Sergei Gorekov.”
