Doctors carry out 40-min surgery of goldfish weighing just 1gram
Molly was rushed in for surgery after its owners noticed a lump on her belly.
BRISTOL (Dunya News) – The doctors in Bristol have successfully carried out a surgery of tiny goldfish weighing just 1gram and removed tumor from her stomach.
According to details, Molly was rushed in for surgery after her owners noticed a lump on her belly. The VETS removed the tumor in a 40-minute operation that cost 100 pounds.
The fist was returned to her tank later that day.
Highcroft vets in Bristol Sonya Miles, ““Veterinary medicine has advanced over time so we were able to perform what is a pretty simple procedure. The fish is kept wet and anesthetic is injected over the gills.”
The doctor went to say, “After the op, the area is covered with a waterproof paste as stitching the skin isn’t a possibility. The fish was then woken in fresh oxygenated water. Thankfully we were able to remove the tumor before it started to upset her balance.”
